Remedial massage

What is remedial massage?

Remedial massage is a type of therapeutic massage that aims to treat and manage specific muscular and soft tissue problems.

Remedial massage therapists use a variety of techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and stretching, to help restore normal movement, reduce pain and tension, and improve overall function.

Essentially the remedial massage session processes the assessment, which involves a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s health condition. This information helps the therapist to provide targeted treatment tailored to the client’s individual needs.

Our Remedial Massage Therapist can incorporate Western remedial and traditional Chinese massage styles, which can help address a range of issues such as muscular tension, stress relief, and overall relaxation. Acupressure points can be included in your massage if desired to enhance the therapeutic benefits and improve the flow of energy throughout the body.

Reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is the application of pressure to specific points and areas on the feet. According to reflexology theory, certain locations on the feet correspond to specific organs, bones and body systems within the body.

This form of massage is commonly combined with other therapies such as acupuncture, meditation and remedial massage. It is also a great option for those who are unable to experience body massage.

Foot reflexology may assist with:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Reducing pain
  • Promoting restful sleep
  • Aiding digestion

Lymphatic drainage massage

A natural way to rejuvenate your skin.

Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic technique that involves the manual or mechanical stimulation of the lymphatic system to promote the flow of lymphatic fluid, which carries waste materials and immune cells away from tissues and organs.

Massage therapies FAQs

Remedial massage is focused on treating specific musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and chronic pain. It involves an initial assessment, use of advanced techniques, and integration of other modalities such as stretching and exercise therapy.

Remedial massage is more targeted and therapeutic than other types of massage, and is a great option for those with chronic pain, injuries, or specific musculoskeletal conditions.

Remedial massage is covered under most Australian health insurance providers, a part from HCF. Our clinic is equipped with HICAPs so you can claim on-the-spot. Please check with your health insurance provider for more information.

A remedial massage treatment lasts 60 minutes. To ensure that you receive the full 60-minute treatment, we kindly request that you arrive at least five minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This will allow you to comfortably fill out any necessary forms and discuss any specific concerns you may have with your therapist.

Reflexology should not hurt, but you may experience mild discomfort or sensitivity during the treatment, especially if you have tender or sensitive areas on their feet. If you experience pain or discomfort, it’s important to communicate with our Reflexologist.

No, reflexology is not covered by private health insurance.
